A Transformative Model…
Built to challenge the norms of the conventional nonprofit industry and faith-based organizations.
We don’t aim low.
Yerusha puts the leadership and guidance of the organization in the hands of the people who understand it, maintain it, and depend on its sustainability most: the workers. A WSDO* is a democratic workplace model, the nonprofit version of a worker-cooperative.

Collective Leadership
The General Circle acts as Yerusha’s Board of Directors, comprised of the staff of the organization, along with representatives from the faculty and volunteers, as well as the advisors appointed to Yerusha’s Council of Wise Elders. The General Circle is the primary organ of authority and responsibility for the organization. It’s the General Circle that approves a transparent annual budget and programming calendar, and all organizational policy.
Everyone joins together at the Coordinating Council
The central coordinating body of Yerusha, this is a quarterly stakeholder meeting for all staff, faculty, and volunteers. The Coordinating Council ensures cohesion, community, communication, and transparency among the many organs of Yerusha. It is led by the Volunteer Chair, a position elected by the volunteers each year.
Volunteer Circles
The many projects and initiatives of Yerusha’s volunteers. To be a volunteer with Yerusha is to engage your creativity, skills, leadership, energy, and loving vision for the potential of this organization and its mission.
“Alone we can do so little;
together we can do so much.”
